My granddaughter from Las Vegas sent me a letter with Flat Stanley in it. For those who are not familiar, there is a book named Flat Stanley by Jeff Brown. In the book a boy named Stanley is flattened by a bulletin board. His parents decided to fold him up and send him to California. My granddaughter's class thought it would be cool to send their own Flat Stanleys just to see where he can go and what he can see.
So, on Flat Stanleys' first day here in New York, I made him a hearty breakfast as you can see below. :-)
I took him with to work, and shadowed me all day. He was tickled pink too when I introduced him to our Director. Then I showed him around... here he is in our mailroom helping sort mails. I also showed him our library, our credit union and the rest of our building.
Here he is with his buddy, Guy, an outdoor cat...whoaa, it's windy! and cold! brrrrr!
He attended a church dinner, went with us when we brought our son back to college, went shopping and even helped shovel snow. He went back home to Las Vegas yesterday in a much bigger envelope...what with a lot of pictures with him and wonderful memories about our town. Thanks Flat Stanley for giving us the opportunity to get to know you! We enjoyed your stay with us and hope you'll come and visit us again. We ♥ ♥ ♥ and miss you!

Flat Stanley must have had a great time in NY... You certainly gave him a great visit... BUT--I'll bet he is happier this time of year being in Vegas... Why didn't you go with him????? ha ha

Oh, I remember Flat Stanley from when my son was in kindergarten! He traveled the earth. My son is now 16 - soon he will do his own traveling.

That was a fun visit with Flat Stanley. I'm sure he enjoyed his stay with you, esp. when you took him around your town.
