Front Porch Party

Oh dear, is it that time already? My porch is not quite ready yet. Oh well, I'm sure my friends will understand. Where I live, it is not a good idea to start planting annuals outdoor until after Memorial Day ... we still get cold nights before then. I usually have planters in front ... but anyway, WELCOME to my humble porch, my friends! Have you been to Rhondi's porch party? I am one of the front porch party participants. Oh yes, Rhondi, wishing you a Happy, Happy Birthday! Hope you have many more to come. The weather forecast this weekend will go up to upper 90's and I have more chairs inside so please, do come in ... it is cooler indoor.

This is the front view of my front porch, my Peonies are blooming! I have more rows of peonies at the west side of our house but for some reason, the buds are still tight. Ahhh, it is so nice to see and smell fresh flowers!

This is the other end of my porch ... as you can see, we have an old timer "glider" that I plan to refinish this summer and debating what color to use ... any suggestions?
Well my friends, I'm afraid this is not much of a party, but thank you for stopping by. Please come and visit again as I do the same.

Nance-
That is a very nice porch that you have. Really nice wood floor and the spindle railing. Would give anything to have a porch like yours as our front porch has no railing and is more a small deck.
I visited your blog and see you have milk glass as my mother does also. Was a fun time seeing your porch and your blog!

Hi Nance... your porch will be just the spot for 90 degree weather. The peonies are beautiful! How lucky you are!

Hi Nance!
What a lovely porch you have! I love the old glider!! We had one that "came" with our porch on our very first house! Looked exactly the same only it was a horrid green. There were cushions for it and I can't tell you how much we used it and enjoyed it. I guess I vote for black or a soft green, you could have some real fun with fabrics for the cushions. And if that sounds too bold, white goes with everything!! Thanks for the wonderful memories Nance!

Hi Nance
Glad you made it to the party. I love those old gliders. I think it would be great in aqua or red but white always looks crisp.

Hi Nance, love your porch and your glider! I like the look of vintage metal painted in a soft green. Your peonys look so pretty. I love the scent of them, I always bring a few in.

ganda ng porch i rememer b4 my pinay lola they have a porch not so like this nga maganda at mahusay pagka gawa......
naala-ala ko meron silang yon chair na....rocking chairs, 2 piraso....tapos yon lola ko at kapatid nya, yon nag-usapan sa porch nila, while the chair is rocking.....

tapos kaming 3 na magkapatid, noon while i am also single pa.....sabi namin 3 magkapatid, hndi na daw kami mag-asawa at doon na lang daw kami....rocking the chairs....

hay, thnks God may nakakita sa akin, nakapag-asawa.....yon 2 kong kapatid,.,.sila na lang daw 2 doon sa rocking chairs ng lola......lol

Great porch, the glider will look wonderful once painted. Suggestion; get rid of the plastic furniture.
