What A Treat!

March 4, 1991 was the last time we had an ice storm. I remember it very well... how beautiful the surrounding was. Every single blade of grass was covered with ice like a cocoon, each and every branch of the trees and shrubs were covered with ice, and they shone like crystals against the sunlight ... it was magical! That was why when the weather report predicted an ice storm last night, I brought my camera with me to work and took pictures here and there ... like the one pictured above.

However, on my way home, I did not expect a treat. Beside the road was a red fox! Foxes around our area are very elusive, they run as soon as a human being is nearby. That was why I was amazed when this handsome little guy waited and posed for me to take a picture.
I think this is a one in a million chance ... to see a fox surrounded by ice and silhouetted against the blue sky! What a treat indeed!

That was really a treat, a chance that you should seize at that very moment, and lucky you have your camera with you.

This reminds me of the time we, Mick and I, went to Redondo Beach, and while there the birds started diving into the water to catch fish. Some of these birds were swimming below the surface. Of all days, that was the only day I forgot my camera. I took some shots with my cellphone, but it didn't come out well. Darn I missed that. We've been back there many times since, but it never happened again.

Nowadays, wherever I go, I always make sure I have my camera with me.

nature lovers we three are. silly me thinks, it evokes warm thoughts and sweeps me off my feet many times. nature has such an alluring effect that it sets to move me into high poetry gear, lol. just blabbering here, but it's true.

we're the same birds of beautiful feather that rarely flock together:-) wish we were neighbors that see each other constantly.

Mari,
birds swimming below the surface?! WOW! darn indeed!
I've done the same thing. I've seen a sunrise where the sun looked like a big bright orange ball and i wished i had my camera with me.

I used to leave a disposable camera in my car ... now i don't even know where it is! :)

yes indeed, nini! we can't go wrong with nature ... peaceful, fresh, organic, and it brings out the artist in us.

ahhh, i love that; same birds of beautiful feather ...
for now, we're just a click away from each other.

'gday, dudettes!

basta pics taken.....

ay sabi ko, hindi lang japanese, kahit na pinay or kahit sino, kasi a "second" happen, hindi na babalik kahit anong gagawin.....this is my motto.....

vk,
mahilig nga din tayo sa mga pics, kung may time sana ako organize ko ang mga pics namin, tatlong malalaking plastic container na sila, most of them are dated pero meron iba walang dates and names ang likod kasi in a few years, di na maalala kung kelan at kung sino ang mga nasa pics lalo na pag naging great great grandma na ako! :)
