What's New?

My son (with red bandana) and some of his teammates.

Last Friday hubby and I drove 55 miles amid a snowstorm to watch our son and his teammates compete at the annual Finger Lakes Regional FIRST Robotics competition.

We were surprised at how crowded the place was! Students and fans alike were cheering for their robot and music was blaring through the stadium! My son explained to me that the object of the game was for the robot to accumulate points by moving the giant balls across an overpass. The robots were maneuvered with controls by their operators standing at the sidelines.

The photo below is my son with the robot their team built. It took them about six weeks to complete this robot. His robotics team won a silver medal which earned them a spot to participate in the national challenge in Atlanta, GA that will be held next month. Way to go team!

Wow, that's some contraption they built there, Nance. Good experience for them. They learn how to design and build; and how to make it work.

Hooray for the team. Atlanta here they come!!!

ghee,
ohhh, i'm not so sure about being a genius :) although that would be nice. :)

ev,
yeah, kids nowadays are lucky, most of them get a lot of support from their parents. My parents were busy making a living when I was a kid but that was the way it was at that time.

Happy Easter!

jmom,
yeah! my son said they will keep the number of their team-1551. we'll try to watch it too.

vk,
oo, silver ang nakuha nila, they came within an inch of the gold, sayang, konti lang ang difference nila.

take care and happy easter sa inyo!

HAPPY EASTER MONDAY TO YOU AND FAMILY.....

holiday pa rito, bukas pa ang pasokan.

wow you have 1 week visitors, it is nice.
nice din sa usapan and talks n talks....and going together to pasyal, isn´t it?

i missed this too, to have a welcome visitors to stay with us, a couple of days,.

kaya, presently, hindi talaga pwede, kasi we have no extra room for a couple visitors....except kung 1 lang at babae lang po...

maliit lang ang flat namin, wla nga kaming sala or kainan room.

saka na siguro kung wla na ang mga bata sa amin, then, we have a space for my closed friends to stay with us.

thanks for your easter greetings,too.
