Four Seasons

My goodness me, is it winter already? I barely had time to take my dahlias out off the ground! We normally run the lawn mower all over our yard to mulch the fallen leaves before good old winter comes, but it always sneaks up on us. We've been having snow almost everyday; luckily the roads are still a little warm so that the snow melts as soon as it touches the ground.

I thought it was interesting to get four season pictures of my front yard. It would be a nice subject to paint. What do you think of these? Personally, I think that I should take a much better pictures suitable for painting ... lol

Winter wonderland ...

Early spring and a lonesome tulip ...

Early summer ...

Summer ...

Fall; pulling up the annuals before winter comes.

Sad looking Fall. I like and enjoy the temp and the fall foliage's rainbow of colors in the fall but after that it's all ... blah?

Hmmm ... my front yard really looks so bare in the fall and winter, maybe an evergreen shrubs might help, they provide color year round and bet they will look beautiful and attractive with Christmas lights. Why didn't I think of that before!...lol

I love the colorful deciduous trees in autumn, but, yes, after the leaves have drifted on the ground, the trees look sad. They make the surroundings look forlorn. One tall evergreen would be great on your front yard, and a few junipers would perk it up.

I love your house. Mick said it's lovely.

Oh Nance,

What a beautiful home you have! I loved looking at all of the seasons :) Out here we don't really get that, but it's warm most of the time so I guess I can't complain!

Hi BR,
I like the look of summer too.Just for fun, we went shopping yesterday & i counted houses w/ shrubs/greeneries in front of their house, out of 65 houses, only 6 have evergreens. I know these houses have well manicured lawn and colorful flowers in the summer...must be the norm where i live. but i still want something green out there. :)

'Morning Rhondi,
Thanks. I have to come visit your blog, see if you posted your delicious foods & beautiful table setting.

Hola Mari,
I guess we just have to change our perspective and try to find beauty on those leafless trees. :) I was thinking one 5-6 ft evergreen on each side of the steps and few of the ones you can trim/shape (yews/junipers) along the foundation of our house. I can still have my low growing annuals in front of those junipers in the summer. Wha'd y'think?

Hi red,
nakakalungkot nga lalo na pag winter. may mga tao na nagkakaroon ng winter blues. Salamat, luma na bahay namin, over 100 yrs na yata dami ng repairs na nagawa.
